Peach Dump Cake: A Quick & Easy Year-Round Treat

When it comes to desserts, there’s nothing better than something that tastes like it took hours to make but really only took minutes to assemble. That’s exactly why we love Peach Dump Cake! It’s an effortless dessert that combines the comforting flavors of a cobbler with the fraction of the work. Perfect for any time of year, this sweet and buttery treat will have your family and friends coming back for seconds.

What is a Dump Cake?

If you’ve never made a dump cake before, you’re in for a treat. The name might not sound glamorous, but the results are incredible. A dump cake is as simple as it gets: just “dump” the ingredients into your baking dish and bake. The only change I make is to first mix the melted butter with the box cake mix to ensure an even texture once done baking. I have found if you don’t do this step, your topping has dry spots from where the butter wasn’t evenly distributed. With a little more effort, you won’t have this problem.

Why Peach Dump Cake?

Peaches are the star of this dish, bringing a bright and juicy sweetness that pairs beautifully with the buttery, crisp topping. While this recipe uses canned peaches for convenience, it’s still bursting with fresh flavor. After conducting a poll, I found the most popular canned peach is from Trader Joe’s. I can confirm they are absolutely delicious. They come in halves, so I like to cut the halves into fourths.

  • Customizable: Add a handful of chopped pecans to the topping for a nutty crunch or lemon juice for even more tang.
  • Always in Season: Thanks to canned peaches, you can make this dessert no matter what time of year.

Be sure to have vanilla ice cream on hand for extra credit! If you don’t like the idea of using a box cake mix for the topping, check out my Peach Crisp recipe!
