Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sliders are a great way to feed a crowd a sandwich without having to sit over a stove cooking for hours. The brand of choice for the bread is King’s Hawaiian Rolls. The rolls are soft, delicious and easily available. The two 16-packs at Costco are the best deal.
This sliders recipe is very forgiving. There is nothing set in stone about it. The cheeses used are American and Swiss, but any cheese that melts will do. Use whatever you like. You can also use as little or as much as you’d like. The cheeses sandwich a layer of crumbled cooked bacon. The recipe calls for a pound, but you can easily double it if your crowd are meat lovers. To make the bacon in one batch, twist it up tight like a corkscrew and place side by side on a parchment lined brimmed sheet pan. Bake on the top rack in a 350-degree oven for 25 minutes, flip and cook another 25 minutes.
The butter sauce is savory, sweet with a bit of tang from the honey mustard. It’s delicious. Pour all of it on top of the sliders unless you have someone who dislikes honey mustard. If you want to play it safe, leave out the honey mustard, do a teaspoon of garlic powder, double the onion powder and add more salt to make it more of a garlic butter sauce. Cook the sliders on a parchment lined brimmed sheet pan.
If you want to pair these ultimate grilled cheese sliders with a soup, I highly recommend my tomato soup.

- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp onion powder

- Add crumbled bacon on top of the Swiss cheese and spread out evenly.
- Flip the top rolls on.
- Melt butter over medium heat in a saucepan. Add honey mustard and all the seasonings. Whisk until fully incorporated.
- Pour all the sauce on top of the sliders and use a brush to spread around.
- Bake uncovered on the top rack for 15-20 minutes just until they turn golden and the cheese is melted.
