Homemade Meat Sauce
When I don’t want to take the quick & easy route, this is my go-to sauce recipe. I love this meat sauce because it’s super flavorful with a slight sweetness that cuts the acidity. I made this batch for a big lasagna I’ll be taking to my parents for Sunday dinner ❤️
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chuck
- 1 lb sweet Italian sausage
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 15 oz can tomato sauce
- 6 oz cans tomato paste
- 1/2 c water
Seasoning
- 1/4 c sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/4 c freshly chopped parsley
