Glazed Blueberry Butter Swim Biscuits: Sweet, Simple, and Oh-So-Buttery
If you’re looking for a delicous, easy-to-make treat for breakfast, look no further than these glazed blueberry butter swim biscuits. With just a handful of ingredients and minimal effort, you’ll have a batch of buttery, moist biscuits ready to steal the show.
These biscuits are sweet, but not too sweet — the kind of indulgence that feels perfectly balanced. They’re rich from all that butter that bubbles up from the bottom of the pan during baking, creating a golden, crisp crust while leaving the interior melt-in-your-mouth moist. And with bursts of blueberres in every bite, they feel fancy enough to impress your guests, even if you just whipped them up on a whim.
The Magic Of Simplicity
The beauty of these biscuits is their simplicity. You don’t need a long list of ingredients or special equipment. Whether you have fresh or frozen bluberries, both work perfectly here. The recipe yields nine biscuits, making it just the right size for a family breakfast or a small gathering with friends.

Glazed Blueberry Butter Swim Biscuits
Ingredients
Biscuits
- 2 1/2 c all purpose flour
- 1/3 c sugar
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 2 c buttermilk
- 1/2 c salted butter (1 stick) melted
- 1 c blueberries fresh or frozen
Glaze
- 1 c powdered sugar
- 2 1/2 tbsp warm milk
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- Add flour, baking powder, sugar and kosher salt to a bowl. Whisk until fully combined.
- Pour in the buttermilk and bring the batter together with a spatula. Once there are no dry spots in the dough and everything has been incorporated, pour in the blueberries and mix again.
- Line a 9x9 baking dish with parchment paper and pour in a stick of melted salted butter.
- Add the batter to the buttery pan and spread out evenly with a spatula. Youll have butter seep over the dough in areas, that's okay.
- Cut the dough into 9 equal squares.
- Bake for 40 minutes uncovered in the middle rack.
- Toward the end of baking, make the glaze on the stove over medium heat. Add the milk and vanilla to the pan and once warm add the powdered sugar. Whisk or use a spatula to mix the glaze until there are no lumps.
- The biscuits should be golden brown on top and a toothpick will come out clean when done. Pour the hot glaze over the hot biscuits. Let sit for 20 minutes then enjoy while warm!
