The best thing at Chuy’s Tex-Mex restaurant is the creamy jalapeno ranch dip. I attempted making this years ago and was corrected by several employees that my recipe was missing two key ingredients: tomatillos and buttermilk. Since then I update my recipe and I have to admit, it’s spot on! While measurements may not be exact, it’s extremely close!
You really need a food processor and a good blender to make this. The sauce includes chunky items like tomatillos, cilantro and pickled jalapenos. You want these to be pulverived with no chunkiness. This can’t be done by hand. Once you have that covered you’ll be making this just like the restaurant!
