Gooey Rice Krispies Treats

A buttery, chewy, sticky Rice Krispies Treat recipe with two secret ingredients. These squares have the perfect rice cereal to marshamallow ratio. They taste like the original recipe you love but with the volume turned up!

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tbsp salted butter
  • 20 oz mini marshmallows
  • 2/3 c marshmallow fluff
  • 8 soft chewy caramels Werther's
  • 9 c puffed rice cereal
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt

Instructions
 

  • Heavily butter or line a 9x13 pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Add the caramels followed by the mini marshmallows, marshmallow fluff and kosher salt. Stir constantly, scraping the bottom of the pot to keep the mixture from burning.
  • Once everything is melted together, remove from the heat and add the puffed rice cereal and mix until fully combined. Add to the 9x13 dish and gently press the mixture into the dish with wet hands. It will be very sticky.
  • Let rest for at least 20 minutes. Cut and serve.
  • To store, cover tightly with cling wrap and leave on the counter for up to 3 days.
